Our Benefits

As well as a competitive salary, the benefits we currently offer as part our reward package for you are: 

Generous holiday entitlement 
All employees qualify for a paid annual leave entitlement. Your entitlement will be stated in your contract of employment and, where relevant, within the associated collective agreement. 

Car allowance 
For our employees who are required to travel in excess of 10,000 business miles per year, we pay a taxable car allowance, which they may use towards funding the provision of a vehicle. If you are entitled to car allowance this will be confirmed in your contract. 

We offer a voluntary Private Medical Insurance scheme at preferential rates for all employees. Some employees also qualify for Private Medical Insurance cover under our Private Healthcare Scheme. If you’re eligible this will be clearly stated in your contract of employment.

Free life assurance 

Our pension scheme offers life assurance of four times your annual salary if you die whilst you are an active member. 

Free personal accident assurance 
If you’re involved in an accident, whether its work related or not, our personal accident assurance has you covered. Should you suffer an accident and it results in a permanent disability or injury, you are insured for up to four times your annual gross salary at the time of the accident. This cover applies to any permanent injury sustained, regardless of it being work-related. 

Occupational health and wellbeing services 
It’s our mission to keep you happy and healthy at work, so we provide occupational health and wellbeing services which includes an employee healthy minds line, free flu vaccinations and gym facilities at some of our sites.


The financial arrangements you make through a pension scheme for your retirement are very important. We offer our Defined Contribution scheme with a choice of 11 investment funds to select from. If you pay the minimum contribution of 3% of your salary we will contribute 6% and if you pay the maximum of 5%, we will pay 10%. You can also increase the value of your retirement account by contributing more through additional voluntary contributions.

Critical illness insurance

Provides you with a tax free lump sum if you are diagnosed with one of 13 specified critical illnesses. You can choose to purchase cover for yourself or your partner. 

Cycle to Work Scheme 
Our Cycle to Work scheme enables you to hire bikes and safety equipment from the Company, via our scheme partner, Halfords. Bikes and equipment can be chosen from a nationwide network of shops across the UK. 

Dental cover 
Helps you manage the cost of dental treatment, for both you and your family. 
The insurance scheme offers a variety of cover, with premiums deducted straight from your net pay. 

Dining Card 
You can use your Gourmet Society Card or Tastecard to dine out at discounted prices. 


Extra, our employee offers scheme, includes free discounts and exclusive offers from hundreds of high street shops, restaurants and online retailers e.g. Currys, PC World, Apple, PureGyms, Nuffield Health, EE, Super Break, Alton Towers, Asda and B&Q. 

Eye care vouchers 

All colleagues who use display screen equipment (DSE) are entitled to eye test vouchers which cover the cost of a standard eye test. What’s more, if you need glasses solely for the purposes of your job, you’ll receive a contribution towards the cost of your glasses too. 

Health Cash Plan 
Provides up to 18 valuable healthcare benefits and services, and enables you to claim money back towards the cost of your eyesight tests, new glasses or contact lenses, dental treatments, a range of therapy treatments, diagnostic consultations and much more. 

Payroll Giving

Retails Vouchers and Compliments Card

Share Incentive Plan 
The Company’s Share Incentive Plan offers you the opportunity purchase shares in the Company and share in its success. The Share Incentive Plan is a tax-free savings scheme in which you save money directly from your salary every month for three years. At the end of that time you have the opportunity to use your savings to buy shares in RWE AG at a discounted price.
