Calling all graduates!

We are very pleased to announce that the RWE npower Graduate Scheme is now open for applications. We’re very proud of our graduate scheme and we have been named in the Job Crowd's Top 100 Companies for graduates to work for. We're looking for up to 30 customer–focused graduates for the programme, which begins in September 2014.

There’s never been a better time to join the energy industry; it’s undergoing huge change across the board and the possibilities for career progression are endless. We’re looking for graduates with drive, initiative and the desire to get the most out of an opportunity to work within one of the UK’s biggest energy suppliers. We’ve set ourselves the goal of being number one in the industry for customer experience and you’ll be a big part of us achieving this commitment.

As a graduate with RWE npower you’ll be challenged from day one, but you’ll be given real responsibility. Our schemes are made up of placements in teams across the business, working on anything from government programmes to deliver energy efficiency measures to vulnerable customers, to hedging electricity and gas for our 6.5 million customer accounts.

We have four main schemes: Finance, Energy Risk Management, Quantitative Risk and the new Bespoke scheme. The Bespoke gives you the chance to choose the area you want to work in from: Marketing, Sales, HR, Energy Services, Property Sustainability and Customer Service. You’ll be able to move between these or choose one specific path to follow. Finance, Energy Risk Management and Bespoke scheme graduates will each spend one of their six-month placements in the customer services division, to get a thorough understanding of our customer-facing business. This is all part of our commitment to put our customers at the heart of everything we do.

Graduates on our Finance scheme work in teams across our business in a mixture of six-month and one-year placements. You’ll be sponsored to work towards a professional accountancy qualification – we want to give you a firm grounding in your career. Our Energy Risk Management scheme sits within our Commercial section which manages Commodity (power and gas) and network costs on behalf of the business to ensure that when we make a decision, both the risks and rewards are fully understood. Our Quantitative Risk Scheme is one of the few available outside of the banking sector . The management of risk is a fundamental part of our business and you’ll put the knowledge you’ve built to use from day one.

Take a look at our brand new graduate website to find out more information about the schemes, how to apply, and to hear from our current graduates about what life is like on the scheme:

Hi Naseem, All our graduate schemes are currently closed for the 2014 intake. We re-open in September 2014 and I would advise you to apply for one of our graduate schemes at that point. Good luck with your application! Graduate Resourcing Team
